Boss Ds 1 Hate
Big boss supporter otherwise.
Boss ds 1 hate. Every setting was harsh and well the sound just wasn t that good. In my boss ds 1 review i talk about my experience with the distortion pedal that has been around since the late 70s discussing what i like about it and why i also think it s severely overrated. I ask that you don t write it off so quickly though it s probably on a dozen of your favorite records if you like rock music. The current production taiwanese ds 1 pedals sound thin and shrill.
Its nice that everyone in this thread has clearly defined how to properly use a ds 1. But i still hate it treble aside if you don t like the timbre of the boss ds 1 s distortion then it simply isn t for you. Maybe i was using it wrong. The classic ds 1 tone is behind the signature sounds of numerous rock legends and is ready to fuel your own signature sound today.
Its like alot of boss pedals i have owned pretty good but not great. Love it or hate it the boss ds 1 distortion pedal is one of the most popular pedals of all time. Legendary distortion used by guitarists everywhere since 1978. Ok i just traded in my digitech df 7 the distortion factory for an original boss ds 1.
If it is a japanese or early taiwan pedal with the ta7136ap chip then it s a good one. The current production taiwanese pedals will all sound the same. Many guitarists have owned one or two or 20 throughout their years of playing. Its unfortunate that the ds 1 has gotten such a bad rep around here.
From what i ve read about the ds 1. The ds 1 came out in 1978 and since then it s been featured on more recordings than probably any other pedal. I haven t used a ds 1 in about 10 years. Does it have an power input like this.
I recently acquired a pre 1994 ds 1. This may sound foolish as the digitech new is worth two times as much but i grew to hate it. 4 points 2 years ago. The ds 1 is the top selling boss compact pedal ever and its original unchanged design continues to inspire the creation of great music everywhere.
If you are going to say that a lot of people use it wrong than define what is right. With its low price tag and iconic appearance this ubiquitous orange dirt box has been a bestseller for almost 40 years. To me the ds 1 is pretty vanilla. I have never seen boss pedals have 2 serial numbers.
